SUMMARY

 

The teacher in this .4 position will provide 2 sections of quality instruction aligned to Minneapolis College concurrent enrollment standards(high school and college credit) for the following courses: EDUC 1500: Introduction to Urban Education and Reflection & EDUC 1400: Technology for Teachers EDUC 2250: Introduction to Special Education, and EDUC 2350: Multicultural Approaches to Education. This teacher will plan curriculum with a focus on equity and culturally responsive practices to highlight the brilliance of Henry students.  This position is  funded for a .3 position funded by the  MDE GYO Grant (Grow Your Own) for a Community Experiences and Connections Coordinator which could include collaborating with community members and partners, scheduling community experts from the community to speak to classes, and going into the community to promote the education pathway.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Master’s Degree in Education  Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid teaching license Must hold a MA in education and be approved to teach by Minneapolis College
