Schedule: 8:00-4:30, Monday-Friday; attendance to some evening meetings may be required

Partnership and Pathways Coordinator/School Success Program Assistant
Adult Education-Community Education


To coordinate with community partners and oversee the implementation pathway programming in
Minneapolis Adult education. To track the progress and report outcomes in the SID and WF1 databases. To
support satellite locations and troubleshoot operational issues as they arise. To act as the contact person for
agencies/organizations looking to develop career pathways in partnership with MPS Adult Education. To
promote and market career pathway opportunities both internally and externally. To support career pathway
instructors with curriculum resources. To seek out funding sources (grant writing) for career pathway
opportunities that can expand our course offerings. This position reports directly to the Site Supervisor.
Essential Functions
● Contact person for agencies/organizations looking to develop career pathways in partnership with
MPS Adult Education (City of Minneapolis, DEED, Hennepin County, and Community Partners)
● Attend all partnership meetings and participate on various boards pertaining to career pathways
● Participate in local career fairs to ensure that we are matching the needs of our learners with the
needs of employers
● Ensure that staff at satellite locations have the resources they need to effectively deliver career
pathway programming
● Seek out funding sources (grant writing) for career pathway opportunities
● Develop partnerships, under the guidance of the Program Manager, that enhance career pathway
opportunities for our learners
● Monitor and track the progress of learners enrolled in career pathway courses
● Provide ABE support, resources, and trouble shooting consortium members looking to grow their
career pathways program
● Connecting career pathway participants to next steps
● Coordinate career pathway curriculum development bridging the gap between what MPSAE offers
and what employers need
● Work with MPS and outside agencies to develop viable pathways to post secondary institutions
● Support career pathway instructors with curriculum resources
● Schedule career pathway offerings in coordination with Site Supervisors
● Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications include:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Service, Psychology, or a related field; AND three (3)
years of demonstrated educational support experience in an urban educational environment,
including group facilitation and conflict resolution; OR an equivalent combination of
education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
● Knowledge of local community resources and community services programs
● Experience working with community partners and managing projects
● Principles of record keeping and records management.
● Successful experience, working with adults in an education setting
Preferred qualifications include:
● Experience working with online learning platforms, and with students with low digital literacy
● Ability to effectively address issues related to learner persistence and overcoming barriers
● Experience in Adult Basic Education programming
● Experienced and comfortable with advising adult learners
● Familiarity with the Adult Education student management system
● Experience working with community partners, and connecting adults to employment resources

● Developing and presenting professional development for staff
● Data-minded and detail-oriented; minimum of basic knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
● Ability to create, learn, adapt, and improve systems

● Strong spoken and written English communication skills
Working conditions
● Requires flexible work schedule to serve multiple programs at different sites and time (including
some evenings and Saturday’s as needed)
