Position Description:
Office Manager, Senior Leadership Team for Special School District Number 1 dba Minneapolis Public Schools, Minneapolis, MN.
Lead a dedicated team in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the administrative and operational functions that support the District’s Senior Leadership Team. Manage complex scheduling, organizing travel, oversee communications, process financial transactions, and handle confidential tasks. Ensure smooth and efficient office operations while providing high-level support to facilitate effective decision-making and streamline management processes for senior leaders. Manage administrative operations for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT); evaluate issues, identify priorities, and develop solutions; assign work; work independently and make appropriate decisions based on experience; perform tasks within the scope of authority and training; duties may vary based on job assignment. Provide information and assistance to staff and clients; answer questions and resolve issues within the scope of authority, using knowledge of MPS and department policies and procedures; research information requests, and respond independently to inquiries when appropriate. Manage and coordinate MPS administrative duties and department functions; oversee budget and expenditures; oversee grant programs and prepare grant reports; process invoices, purchase requests, contracts, expense reimbursements, special requests, leave requests, and payroll. Manage and coordinate assigned projects and research studies; identify and resolve problems to ensure the successful completion of projects and initiatives. Supervise assigned administrative staff; monitor staff compliance with departmental policies, ensuring smooth execution of administrative tasks and responsibilities. Ensure proper processing of action items within the work group; prepare necessary information for administrative decisions and the implementation of policies; interpret, communicate, and apply MPS rules, procedures, and policies. Compile, analyze, and prepare data and reports, offering recommendations to support the Senior Leadership Team’s decision-making processes. Compose correspondence, technical documents, and other communications on a variety of subjects requiring knowledge of work group operations; updates websites and newsletters.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field and 4 years exp as Education Administrator.
Must have 1 year experience working with:
Applicable state and Federal rules and regulations governing public education.
Public School administration policies, including accounting, budgeting, and personnel rules.
Analyzing administrative issues, interpreting laws and regulations, and recommending solutions.
Researching, compiling, summarizing, preparing and maintaining informational and statistical data.
Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
