Brief Description of Duties: Provide language instruction per defined curriculum and benchmarks for adult learners whose first language is not English OR who have not obtained a high school credential; instruct reading, writing, math, listening and speaking skills per SOEI rubric; use Schoology LMS; participate in PLC and site/curriculum area team.  Instruction using a Promethean Board/ChromeBooks/virtual classroom platform may be required.  Schedules/content area are subject to change quarterly.

 

Requirements:

  • ·       Current Minnesota teaching license
  • ·       Teaching Experience
  • ·       Must demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds
  • ·       ​Good computer skills
  • ·       Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with county agency
  • ·       Able to assess and prioritize duties in a multi-faceted environment

 

Working Environment and Demands:

Teacher will work in collaboration with Hennepin County H.O.P.E program to bring education into a correctional setting. A job in this category will require fingerprinting and background check performed by Hennepin County Justice System. Hours may vary depending on needs within the facility.
